An army of 51ÁÔÆæ volunteers met them, helping the students and parents get all their stuff from cars and trucks into their college homes for the next nine months.<\/p>\n<p>Students will begin settling in to college life almost immediately, as <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/welcome\/events\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fall Welcome events<\/a> begin this week. <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/secu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/122\/2021\/01\/3313-AYCalendar2022-23.pdf\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Classes begin<\/a> on Sept. 6.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Some other interesting statistics and fun facts from University Housing about move-in:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b><\/b><span class=\"s1\"><b>31<\/b>: Number of states that 51ÁÔÆæ residents will be traveling from to move into residence halls<\/span><b><\/b><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"s1\"><b>46<\/b>: Number of countries represented by University Housing residents<\/span><b><\/b><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"s1\"><b>105<\/b>: Number of hours dedicated to training student resident assistants<\/span><b><\/b><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"s1\"><b>198<\/b>: On average, the number of students scheduled to arrive per hour at 51ÁÔÆæ\u2019s five residence halls combined<\/span><b><\/b><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"s1\"><b>About 300<\/b>: Number of moving carts in use per hour to help residents roll their belongings up to their rooms<\/span><b><\/b><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"s1\"><b>926<\/b>: Number of lofts delivered to residence halls, with 359 needing assembly before move-in<\/span><b><\/b><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"s1\"><b>About 45,000<\/b>: The number of feet of shrink wrap used to help secure residents\u2019 belongings as they move them from street level to their rooms<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Another school year kicked off Monday as some 3,300-plus students began moving into university housing at UW-Milwaukee, coming from around the country and around the world.
