The Summit on Black Male Youth<\/a> returned for a seventh year to 51ÁÔÆæ, attracting hundreds of students from southeastern Wisconsin and northern Illinois to engage in\u00a0personal and professional development through reflection and dialogue.<\/p>\n

Attendees include educators, administrators, parents, community-based organizations, government officials and others interested in the promotion and success of young black men and boys.<\/p>\n

The first day of the event focused on middle schoolers, with a focus was on how to be resilient when living through trauma and what to expect in high school. The second day for high schoolers focused on setting goals, maneuvering the black and blue line with 51ÁÔÆæ Police Officer Craig Rafferty, the Welcome to the Real World Black Man workshop, and how to live through trauma.<\/p>\n
