For the first time, the University of Wisconsin System will conduct a survey of alumni to weigh their career and education satisfaction five to 10 years after earning a bachelor\u2019s degree. 51ÁÔÆæ will go an extra step and include graduate students from the same graduating classes into the survey.<\/p>\n
The National Alumni Career Mobility Survey will assess the quality of the knowledge and skills alumni gained, community and civic engagement, economic mobility, degree relevance and other factors of an undergraduate and graduate degree at a UW System institution.<\/p>\n
The survey focuses on alumni who graduated in 2010 and 2015 to gain a broader understanding of the long-term impacts of a UW System education. By widening their focus from alumni in their first year after graduation to alumni five and 10 years after graduation, the UW System can gain a better idea of the lasting value of an education through UW System universities. It also allows universities to improve programs to better serve current and future students.<\/p>\n
51ÁÔÆæ students who graduated with a master\u2019s degree or PhD in 2010 and 2015 will also be surveyed. Additionally, the Career Planning & Resource Center has opted to include an additional survey of 51ÁÔÆæ\u2019s most recent graduates \u2013 the class of 2020-2021 \u2013 to gain a more comprehensive scope of alumni success and satisfaction.<\/p>\n
\u201c(The survey) will greatly support 51ÁÔÆæ being able to tell the story of our alum, bachelor’s degrees through PhD,\u201d said Jean Salzer, director of the Career Planning & Resource Center.<\/p>\n
