The season must go on despite the pandemic. The Peck School of the Arts is opening its fall 2020 season Sept. 17-19 at 7:30 p.m. with a virtual performance that features a collaborative program of dance, film and an original composition. A surprise performance is planned as part of the event.<\/p>\n

The dance program, \u201cFalldances: Moving Stories,\u201d features the work of faculty and guest artists Maria Gillespie, Daniel Burkholder and Caitlin Mahon. A film collaboration by Christal Wagner and an original composition by Kiran Vedula will also be included in the performance.<\/p>\n

\"\"The virtual curtain rises and livestreaming starts at 7:30 p.m. for performances on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.<\/p>\n

The production is part of a long history of collaboration within the Peck School, said Simone Ferro, chair of the Department of Dance.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe belong to a lineage of movers and shakers that celebrate community, healing and engagement through an artistic practice that creates unity and sharing,\u201d she said. In this production, she added, \u201cdance, music and film come together to tell stories of memory, place and activism.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Tickets are available through the Peck School box office<\/a>. Cost is $18 for one patron; $33 for two to three people; and $45 for four or more. Attendees will be sent a link to view the show about an hour before it begins. Ticket purchases support student scholarships.<\/p>\n
