Break out your Hogwarts house colors, sleuthing skills and best board game strategies \u2013 Geek Week is back at 51ÁÔÆæ March 2-6 with a packed schedule of activities that cater to anyone\u2019s nerdy side.<\/p>\n

The week kicks off March 2 with a new event: a murder mystery party. From 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the Wisconsin Room of the Student Union, students can chat with other characters over dinner and try to discover whodunnit.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s keynote speaker is Matthew Luhn<\/a>, a former Pixar animator and storyteller. Luhn has worked on popular titles such as the \u201cToy Story\u201d series, \u201cCars,\u201d \u201cRatatouille\u201d and several episodes of \u201cThe Simpsons,\u201d\u00a0<\/em>with other works in development. With over 25 years of experience in telling stories, Luhn will talk about Pixar, creativity and entrepreneurship at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, in the Lubar Entrepreneurship Center.<\/p>\n

For the first time, Geek Week will host an escape room. It will be in the Golda Meir Library on Thursday from 7 to 10 p.m. Students can also play in Geek Week\u2019s first Quidditch tournament the same day in the Union.<\/p>\n

For students who like to get their hands dirty, there will be craft events earlier in the week. Participants can test their hand at painting and building jewelry or keychains out of computer parts with events like \u201cPaint Night\u201d and \u201cComputer Crafts.\u201d<\/p>\n

Returning this year are opportunities to make s\u2019mores and see the stars in 51ÁÔÆæ\u2019s planetarium, sing along to popular Disney songs with Disney karaoke, play games from Dungeons & Dragons to Super Smash Bros and visit the Milwaukee Public Museum.<\/p>\n
