MILWAUKEE \u2014\u201ciOS5: Fundamentals of Programming the iPhone and iPad\u201d is the topic of a full-day workshop on Friday, Jan. 20, at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The workshop, presented by the Center for Technology Innovation at 51ÁÔÆæ\u2019s Lubar School of Business, runs from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. in Room N146, Lubar Hall, 3202 N. Maryland Ave.<\/p>\n

This workshop will help attendees take advantage of iOS\u2019s new features, including automatic reference counting and storyboards to quickly create simple iOS applications. The focus will be on Xcode and other Apple developer tools. Attendees also will learn to write code using Objective-C and to design interfaces using a GUI tool that is now part of Xcode.<\/p>\n

Presenter Daniel Steinberg has been programming the iPhone and iPad since their SDKs first appeared in beta and in Mac OS X many years before. He is co-author of \u201ciPad Programming: A Quick-Start Guide for iPhone Developers\u201d, and author of \u201cCocoa Programming,\u201d both from Pragmatic Programmers. Steinberg presents iPhone and Cocoa training for the Pragmatic Studio and consults through his company, Dim Sum Thinking Inc.<\/p>\n
