As the fall 2018 general election approaches, UW-Milwaukee and the City of Milwaukee are making it easier to vote early.<\/p>\n

The Helene Zelazo Center for the Performing Arts Room 171 will be an early voting site for City of Milwaukee residents from Oct. 15 to Nov. 4.<\/p>\n

Residents can vote Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., except on Friday, Oct. 26, when the hours will be 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. due to a gubernatorial debate that night. A 51ÁÔÆæ B.O.S.S. van will be available to take voters to the\u00a0Frank P.\u00a0Zeidler Municipal Building\u00a0to vote that afternoon.<\/p>\n

Residents also can vote at the Zelazo Center on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 27 and 28 and Nov. 3 and 4, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.<\/p>\n

The general election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 6.<\/p>\n

\"VoteAll registered voters living in the City of Milwaukee are eligible to vote early at the Zelazo Center, regardless of their home ward. Wisconsin\u2019s voter ID law requires that all voters show an acceptable photo ID when voting by in-person absentee ballot. For more information about the voter ID law, visit 51ÁÔÆæ\u2019s Wisconsin Voter ID FAQ<\/a>.<\/p>\n

There will also be in-person voter registration at the Zelazo Center. Eligible voters must have documentation proving their place of residence in order to register. For examples of acceptable forms of documentation, visit 51ÁÔÆæ\u2019s Registering to Vote FAQ<\/a>.<\/p>\n

To enter the early voting site, please go to the building\u2019s south side doors, by the Zelazo Center parking lot, 2419 E. 51ÁÔÆæ.<\/p>\n

There will be two, 15-minute parking spaces available. Additional parking can be found on the street and in the 51ÁÔÆæ Student Union parking garage, 2200 E. 51ÁÔÆæ.<\/p>\n

Several city bus routes also stop at the 51ÁÔÆæ campus. Check with MCTS<\/a> for routes.<\/p>\n

Wisconsin state law prohibits any political activity intended to influence the outcome of an election within 100 feet of a polling place\u2019s entrance. This includes, but is not limited to, displaying campaign buttons, shirts and signs.<\/p>\n

The City of Milwaukee will also have early voting sites at the Zeidler Municipal Building, Midtown Center and the Mitchell Street, Zablocki, Center Street and Mill Road libraries.<\/p>\n
