{"id":58255,"date":"2018-04-16T14:52:23","date_gmt":"2018-04-16T19:52:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/news\/?p=58255"},"modified":"2024-09-27T09:17:20","modified_gmt":"2024-09-27T14:17:20","slug":"director-day-offers-help-to-education-directors-and-leaders","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/news\/director-day-offers-help-to-education-directors-and-leaders\/","title":{"rendered":"Director Day offers help to education directors and leaders"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Professionals from the early care and education fields will come to UW-Milwaukee\u2019s School of Continuing Education next week to share their strategies for helping children, staff and families thrive.<\/p>\n<p>The second annual early childhood Director Day will be Saturday, April 28, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the School of Continuing Education Conference Center.<\/p>\n<p>Attendees will have the opportunity to network with directors while participating in sessions on topics areas such as children with disabilities, wellness for staff, risk management, leading in turbulent times and child portfolios and assessment.<\/p>\n<p>In the keynote presentation, \u201cWired and Tired,\u201d Angel Stoddard will explore how modern life is wiring our brains and bodies to be tired and stressed all the time, negatively affecting our ability to stay focused and to build relationships. Stoddard, an instructor at the 51ÁÔÆæ Center for Early Childhood Professional Development and Leadership, will share her strategies for being more connected and present.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDirector Day offers insights about current leadership trends, fosters discussions about personal growth and addresses challenging issues in the field,\u201d said Shari Vinluan, director of the center.<\/p>\n<p>For
