Nohl Fund Fellowships<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_40559\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-40559\" style=\"width: 250px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-40559 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/41\/2016\/11\/Mougel_250x300-250x300.jpg\" alt=\"Joseph Mougel\" width=\"250\" height=\"300\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-40559\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Joseph Mougel<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jessemclean.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jesse McLean<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.josephmougel.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Joseph Mougel<\/a> each will receive $20,000 established artist fellowships. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.brookethiele.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Brooke Thiele<\/a> will receive a $10,000 emerging artist fellowship.<\/p>\n<p>The fellowships will provide unrestricted funds for the artists to create new work or to complete work in progress. All fellows will also participate in an exhibition at the Haggerty Museum of Art in June 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Jesse McLean is an assistant professor in film at Peck. She explores human behavior and relationships through video art. She received an International Critics Prize at the Internationale Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen and a Jury Prize at the 2013 Videoex Festival.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_40560\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-40560\" style=\"width: 250px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-40560 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/41\/2016\/11\/JesseMcLean_250x300-250x300.jpg\" alt=\"Jesse McLean\" width=\"250\" height=\"300\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-40560\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Jesse McLean<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Joseph Mougel is the area head and assistant professor in photography. His experience as a first-generation American and as a Marine has influenced his work in photography, video and performance. He has exhibited work nationally and internationally.<\/p>\n<p>Brooke Thiele is a lecturer in animation at Peck and received an MFA in film from 51ÁÔÆæ in 2007. She is an animator, performance artist and filmmaker. Her work explores identity, nature and the perception of memory. She is currently working on a short film called \u201cThe Deer Queen.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_40561\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-40561\" style=\"width: 250px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-40561 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/41\/2016\/11\/BrookeThiele_250x300-250x300.jpg\" alt=\"Brooke Thiele\" width=\"250\" height=\"300\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-40561\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Brooke Thiele<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The three artists, as well as two other artists who will receive emerging artist fellowships, Rose Curley and Robin Jebavy, were chosen from a field of 151 applicants from Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Washington and Waukesha counties.<\/p>\n<p>Peck faculty Raoul Deal and Shane Walsh were both finalists for established artist fellowships. Deal is a senior lecturer in community arts.
