Silver Lake St., Oconomowoc, with visitation from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial.<\/p>\n<p>Krauski died at the age of 67 on Oct. 10 after a two-year battle against pancreatic cancer.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_39345\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-39345\" style=\"width: 250px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-39345 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/41\/2016\/10\/krauski250x300-250x300.jpg\" alt=\"College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) headshot.\" width=\"250\" height=\"300\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-39345\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Michael Krauski (51ÁÔÆæ Photo\/Troye Fox)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Krauski joined 51ÁÔÆæ in January 2009 as director of corporate relations for the College of Engineering &amp; Applied Sciences, bringing with him connections from a long career in industry. At 51ÁÔÆæ, he facilitated research between local companies and Engineering &amp; Applied Sciences faculty and students. He helped launch the product realization course, which brings students and industry together.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMike was a beloved part of the college,\u201d said Brett Peters, dean of Engineering &amp; Applied Sciences. \u201cHe was a special friend to so many faculty, staff and students.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Born April 25, 1949, he grew up in New Berlin. He attended Marquette University, where he earned a bachelor\u2019s degree in civil engineering in 1972 and a master\u2019s in structural analysis in 1974. He earned an executive MBA degree from 51ÁÔÆæ in 1991.<\/p>\n<p>Krauski worked as an engineer in design and system analysis. He had ties to the automotive and aerospace industries, as well as many major manufacturers in the Midwest.<\/p>\n<p>He enjoyed water sports and ice hockey. He was involved in the creation of the Naga-Waukee Park Ice Arena. He was also passionate about the Indianapolis 500 and attended 50 of the past 51 races.<\/p>\n<p>He is survived by Marjorie, his wife of 44 years; his children Kristyn (Jeffrey) White and Jonathan; his sister, Lois Fisch; and four grandchildren.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Services will be held for 51ÁÔÆæ staff member Michael Krauski on Saturday, Oct. 29, at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 995 S.
