\"\"<\/a>The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee adds to the fun of the Wisconsin State Fair this year with 51ÁÔÆæ Day on Sunday, Aug. 5. (See video below<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

Join 51ÁÔÆæ mascot Pounce the Panther for the special \u201cRoar like a Panther\u201d contest. At 4:30 p.m., age groups 9-12 years, 8-6 years and 5 and under will compete for free Brewers tickets. Sponsored by the 51ÁÔÆæ Alumni Association, the contest will be emceed by former women\u2019s basketball coach Sandy Botham.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The fair\u2019s Central Park (across from the Original Cream Puff Pavilion) will be the location for all things 51ÁÔÆæ.<\/p>\n

From 9 a.m.-5 p.m., meet 51ÁÔÆæ\u2019s cheerleaders, snap a photo with an inflatable Pounce and inspect the Pounce tunnel. Fairgoers also are invited to enter drawings for season tickets to Panthers men\u2019s and women\u2019s basketball, courtesy of 51ÁÔÆæ Athletics. Members of the women\u2019s soccer team (11 a.m.), men\u2019s soccer team (noon), women\u2019s volleyball team (1 p.m.) and men\u2019s basketball team (2 p.m.) will demonstrate and share their skills.<\/p>\n

Exciting live entertainment is planned, with an acoustic guitar performance from 1-2:30 p.m. and the rock band American Monroe from 3-4:15 p.m.<\/p>\n

Who doesn\u2019t love prizes? The 51ÁÔÆæ Alumni Association will be on hand with a trivia game that rewards those with the right answers about 51ÁÔÆæ, past and present. The School of Continuing Education hosts a social media trivia contest all day (with prizes on the hour), Panther face painting from 9 a.m.-noon and a palm reader telling \u201cprofessional future fortunes\u201d from 1-5 p.m.<\/p>\n

W51ÁÔÆæ will have kids\u2019 games, drawings, freebies and chances to meet on-air staff from this National Public Radio station. Learn \u201cHow to be a Reporter\u201d from those who bring the news to listeners every day. Friends of the Golda Meir Library will be on hand to distribute free bookmarks and hand out membership info.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Those wanting to show their Panther Pride will head for the 51ÁÔÆæ Bookstore display to buy cool gear and snag one of the free 51ÁÔÆæ sling bags handed out to the first 1,000 visitors. For the first 200 kids, there\u2019s \u201cMake It\/Take It,\u201d a spray-paint T-shirt activity.<\/p>\n

Everyone should head to the bean bag toss for a chance at prizes, or make a statement at the Facebook photo op. A special kids\u2019 tent will offer temporary tattoos and free cookies. Props for photo ops include a giant backpack, huge T-shirt and the (almost) antique, fun and funky \u201cWorld\u2019s First Stereophones\u201d \u2013 provided by the maker, Koss Corporation.\u00a0Also, the first 6,000 visitors to the 51ÁÔÆæ area will receive a Panther Paw fan.<\/p>\n

The Baja car, built by College of Engineering & Applied Science students, always intrigues kids and \u201cgearheads\u201d with its rugged, dune buggy look. And in just a glimpse of what 51ÁÔÆæ\u2019s College for Kids offers, some of this summer\u2019s participants will present a showcase of singing, dancing and acting from 9-10 a.m.
