{"id":28803,"date":"2016-02-05T18:44:00","date_gmt":"2016-02-06T00:44:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/news\/?p=28803"},"modified":"2016-02-05T18:45:21","modified_gmt":"2016-02-06T00:45:21","slug":"cnn-simulcast-debate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/news\/cnn-simulcast-debate\/","title":{"rendered":"CNN adds simulcast of Democrats debate at 51ÁÔÆæ"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MILWAUKEE _ PBS NewsHour announced that in addition to broadcasting live on PBS and streaming live on www.pbs.org\/newshour, the PBS NewsHour Democratic Primary Debate \u2013 to be held at 8 p.m. Feb. 11 in UW-Milwaukee\u2019s Helene Zelazo Center for the Performing Arts \u2013 will be simulcast live on CNN. The debate also will be live streamed online at cnn.com and across mobile via CNNgo and simulcast on CNN International and CNN en Espanol.<\/p>\n<p>PBS NewsHour co-anchors Gwen Ifill and Judy Woodruff will moderate the debate between former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Sen. Bernie Sanders.<\/p>\n<p>UW-Milwaukee is providing information about traffic and parking restrictions on and around campus before and after the debate. Specific details are subject to change. Updates will be available at uwm.edu\/news.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Kenwood Boulevard will be closed to traffic between Downer Avenue on the east and Maryland Avenue on the west, beginning at 6 a.m.\u00a0 Feb. 11. The street is expected to reopen in the early morning of Feb. 12. Traffic on Kenwood Boulevard also may be affected on Feb. 10 and Feb. 12 because of TV satellite trucks parked there.<\/li>\n<li>Milwaukee County Transit buses in the area of the 51ÁÔÆæ Student Union on Kenwood Boulevard will be rerouted from Feb. 10-12. Details are available at www.ridemcts.com.<\/li>\n<li>Additional streets south of campus will be closed to traffic beginning at 6 a.m. Feb. 11 between Kenwood Boulevard and Linwood Avenue. These streets include Farwell Avenue, Prospect Avenue and Stowell Avenue. Police will control access to local residences.<\/li>\n<li>The Northwest Quadrant will be a staging area throughout Feb. 11, with limited access to the adjacent parking garage.<\/li>\n<li>The Zelazo Center parking lot will be closed to all traffic beginning at 6 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 7, through the evening of Feb. 12.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>About 51ÁÔÆæ<\/strong><br \/>\nAs Wisconsin\u2019s only public urban research university, UW-Milwaukee has established an international reputation for excellence in research, community engagement, teaching and entrepreneurism.
