51ÁÔÆæ’s homecoming celebration includes sports, food, a talent show, alumni awards and more.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The first official homecoming celebration in 51ÁÔÆæ\u2019s recent history opens campus doors, recalls happy memories and heralds the future as 51ÁÔÆæ celebrates the inauguration of its ninth chancellor, Mark Mone, and changes the architecture of its beloved East Side Campus with the public dedication of the new Kenwood Interdisciplinary Research Complex.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s all part of 51ÁÔÆæ Alumni Homecoming Week, Oct. 2-10, and 51ÁÔÆæ alumni and friends across the ages are invited.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have more than eight days of events and alumni from seven decades joining us on Milwaukee\u2019s Eastside for Alumni Homecoming Weekend,\u201d 51ÁÔÆæ Associate Vice Chancellor of Alumni Relations Adrienne Bass said. \u201cWe encourage everyone to join their 51ÁÔÆæ friends and family for this historic celebration of school spirit, campus pride and great Milwaukee moments.\u201c<\/p>\n

Throughout the week, homecoming attendees and guests can enjoy movies in the Union Cinema, visit favorite Eastside establishments and meet up with friends old and new.<\/p>\n

Alumni Homecoming Week comes to a festive, fast-paced conclusion with the Panther Prowl 5K, a food truck festival and campus open house, Panther Fandemonium, a Club Football game and 51ÁÔÆæ Family Weekend. Here\u2019s a day-by-day list of highlights:<\/p>\n

Inauguration of Chancellor Mark Mone and dedication of the Kenwood Interdisciplinary Research Complex.<\/p>\n

\"TedX\"<\/a>
51ÁÔÆæ homecoming will get you thinking about “ideas worth sharing” at the student-organized TEDx.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

\u201cTEDx51ÁÔÆæilwaukee: React Differently\u201d speakers discuss how personal and professional reactions can create waves of unknown size and consequence. Fifteen speakers share their ideas. Purchase tickets.<\/a><\/p>\n

Men\u2019s soccer faces Valparaiso University, and women\u2019s soccer plays Youngstown State in two important Horizon League matches.<\/p>\n

Monday, Oct. 5<\/strong><\/p>\n

Be back on campus by lunchtime for a homecoming pep rally featuring speakers, prizes\u2028 and more.<\/p>\n

Evening events include a campus talent showcase. The Manfred Olson Planetarium hosts a Northern Lights show at 7 p.m.<\/p>\n

Tuesday, Oct. 6<\/strong><\/p>\n

Browse the Artist Fair and Farmers Market in the Union by day.<\/p>\n

In the evening, attend a lecture by 51ÁÔÆæ Common Read author Jennifer Morales, who will give an inspiring talk on her short story collection \u201cMeet Me Halfway \u2013 Milwaukee Stories.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wednesday, Oct. 7<\/strong><\/p>\n

Svet the Hip Hop Violinist brings his unique sound to Spaights Plaza, where food and balloon animals will be available. TEDx51ÁÔÆæilwaukee hosts an evening talkback with \u201cReact Differently\u201d speakers.<\/p>\n

Daytime in the Union, enjoy the 1956 Celebration and its abundance of activities, giveaways, food and fun.<\/p>\n
