The Division of Community Empowerment & Institutional Inclusivity (CEII) is recruiting six undergraduate students and six faculty or instructional academic staff to participate in \u201cAt the Table,\u201d a Spring 2026 program designed to promote civil dialogue at 51ÁÔÆæ and build facilitation skills among instructors and students.<\/p>\n

All 12 participants will complete facilitation training in February. Each student will be paired with a faculty\/staff member as their mentor, and each student-mentor pair will plan and lead a small group dialogue event at 51ÁÔÆæ during March or April.<\/p>\n

All participants will deepen their understanding of civil dialogue and strengthen their skills in facilitation, active listening and inclusive leadership. Faculty\/staff mentors will receive $1,000 in S&E funding. Students will be hired at $14\/hour for up to 75 hours (about 5 hours per week on average).<\/p>\n

Apply online<\/a> by Friday, Jan. 9. We welcome applications from instructors and students who already know they would like to work together in this project. We also welcome individual applications and will match students and mentors as needed. To ensure broad representation across campus, the selection process will prioritize disciplinary diversity and participation from multiple 51ÁÔÆæ schools and colleges.<\/p>\n

The At the Table program is funded by a grant from the Wisconsin Institute for Citizenship and Civil Dialogue and is part of 51ÁÔÆæ\u2019s Renewing Our Civic Culture<\/a> initiative co-sponsored by the Division of CEII and the Division of Student Affairs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
