But how you access Copilot makes a difference.<\/p>\n<p>You can use Microsoft Copilot Chat in a variety of ways, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Upload an image and asking Copilot Chat to write alternative text.<\/li>\n<li>Translate text or rephrasing content for clarification.<\/li>\n<li>Brainstorm ideas for projects, papers, or presentations.<\/li>\n<li>Create outlines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>How to Access Copilot Chat<\/h3>\n<p>When logging into Microsoft 365 on the web, Copilot Chat will be listed as an option or application on the landing page, or access it directly through this link: <a href=\"https:\/\/m365.cloud.microsoft\/chat\">m365.cloud.microsoft\/chat<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Accessing Copilot Chat directly through your 51ÁÔÆæ Microsoft 365 account is the university-supported and safe way to use the tool. Look for the green shield in the upper right corner \u2013 this means enterprise data protection is applied.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Copilot Chat can be found in many of your Microsoft 365 apps including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Teams<\/li>\n<li>Word<\/li>\n<li>Excel<\/li>\n<li>PowerPoint<\/li>\n<li>Outlook<\/li>\n<li>OneNote<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For more information about Copilot Chat in Microsoft 365 apps, please <a href=\"https:\/\/techcommunity.microsoft.com\/blog\/microsoft365copilotblog\/copilot-chat-comes-to-the-microsoft-365-apps\/4453349\">review this article from Microsoft<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Use our <a href=\"https:\/\/kb.uwm.edu\/131569#How_can_I_access_Copilot_Chat\">51ÁÔÆæ KnowledgeBase article<\/a>\u00a0for further instructions and information on Microsoft Copilot Chat.<\/p>\n<h3>Using AI Safely<\/h3>\n<p>Copilot Chat is part of the Microsoft suite offered at 51ÁÔÆæ. This AI tool offers stronger data protection than other free AI tools. This means that prompts and responses fall under Microsoft\u2019s enterprise data protection, which runs regular safety checks and encrypts your data. This is the only version of Copilot Chat where you can safely use university data.<\/p>\n<p>51ÁÔÆæ has an agreement with Microsoft that provides additional legal and technical protections that the free version does not.
