The program will be from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the 51ÁÔÆæ Lubar Entrepreneurship Center.<\/p>\n<p>The program will feature a keynote address by Jacki Black on Latine student perceptions, faculty and staff strategies, and the &#8220;servingness framework.&#8221; In addition, 51ÁÔÆæ faculty member Gaby Nagy will present research on \u201cStudent and Staff Stories of Identity, Impact, and Institutional Change: The Role of the Roberto Hern\u00e1ndez Center at an Emerging Hispanic-Serving Institution.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A hands-on session will give participants practical tools and actionable ideas to better support 51ÁÔÆæ\u2019s growing Latine student population and all students across campus.<\/p>\n<p>The morning&#8217;s agenda includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>8:30-9 a.m.: Registration, breakfast and networking<\/li>\n<li>9-9:30 a.m.: Welcome remarks &amp; HSI updates, Alberto Maldonado<\/li>\n<li>9:30-10:30 a.m.: Keynote address: \u201c Latine student perceptions, faculty and staff strategies, and the servingness framework,\u201d Jacki Black of Edgewood College<\/li>\n<li>10:30-10:35 a.m.: Break<\/li>\n<li>10:35-11:35 a.m.: \u201cStudent and Staff Stories of Identity, Impact, and Institutional Change: the Role of the Roberto Hern\u00e1ndez Center at an Emerging Hispanic Serving Institution,\u201d Gaby Nagy, Toriah Haanstad and Norma Reyes<\/li>\n<li>11:35 a.m.-12:15 p.m.: Reflection, questions and closing remarks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.signupgenius.com\/go\/60B0544A9AA29A0FA7-hsiday?useFullSite=true#\/\">Register at this webpage<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A half-day program Oct. 3 will focus on 51ÁÔÆæ\u2019s progress toward Hispanic-Serving Institution status and includes a keynote address.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":40008,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":"","uwm_wg_additional_authors":[]},"categories":[187,336],"tags":[],"section":[],"display_categories":[],"related-coverage":[],"uwmnews-feed":[],"class_list":["post-149179","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-faculty-staff-announcements","category-student-announcements"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v27.3 (Yoast SEO v27.3) -
