51ÁÔÆæ will kick off the fall semester with a focus on safety during the 51ÁÔÆæ Police Department’s annual Campus Safety Day on Wednesday, Sept. 3, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in Spaights Plaza. All students, faculty and staff are invited to learn more about 51ÁÔÆæ\u2019s safety resources, sign up for training and get a chance to meet K9 Ezmae.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The day is part of several safety-related sessions during Welcome Week. Here\u2019s the full schedule of activities, including a special bowling event on Sept. 10:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The 51ÁÔÆæ PD offers free\u00a0Civilian Response to Active Shooter (C.R.A.S.E.) Training and Self-Defense classes throughout the year.\u00a0The training is open to students, faculty and staff.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Police Department also offers the American Heart Association BLS Certification Course. The <\/span>Basic Life Support (BLS) training reinforces early CPR and defibrillation, performing CPR, choking relief and how to use an AED.
