M\u00b3 partners University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Milwaukee Area Technical College and Milwaukee Public Schools will present the award during the annual M\u00b3 Employer Partner Celebration on Wednesday, Aug. 20, at 3 p.m. at the 51ÁÔÆæ Student Union Ballroom.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Media are invited to attend the event, which will feature an employer panel discussion and remarks from Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson, MATC President Anthony Cruz, 51ÁÔÆæ Chancellor Thomas Gibson and MPS Superintendent Brenda Cassellius.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">M\u00b3 is a partnership among MPS, MATC and 51ÁÔÆæ to connect Milwaukee\u2019s youth to clear pathways for higher education. The M\u00b3 Work-Based Learning Program places students from the three partner institutions in area businesses to explore careers, gauge their personal interests and try out various jobs to learn more about the world of work. Since 2018, more than 5,000 students have participated in work-based learning and job fairs to explore careers.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The City of Milwaukee is being honored for its exemplary internship and apprenticeship programs, which allow students to earn a paycheck while gaining hands-on experience in public service careers.
