Brian Switala has been named chief of the 51ÁÔÆæ Police Department, officially beginning his role on June 15.<\/p>\n

As police chief, Switala leads the 51ÁÔÆæPD and advises the university on strategies to prevent crime and enhance the safety, security and well-being of our community. He directs the department\u2019s response to major university emergencies and life-threatening situations.<\/p>\n

Switala brings extensive leadership experience to the role. He has served with the 51ÁÔÆæPD since 2000, as an officer, sergeant, lieutenant, captain, and acting and interim police chief.
