{"id":143053,"date":"2025-03-18T14:11:24","date_gmt":"2025-03-18T19:11:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/news\/?p=143053"},"modified":"2025-03-18T14:11:24","modified_gmt":"2025-03-18T19:11:24","slug":"uw-milwaukee-chancellor-finalists-named-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/news\/uw-milwaukee-chancellor-finalists-named-2\/","title":{"rendered":"UW-Milwaukee chancellor finalists named"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Four finalists have been named to be the next chancellor of UW-Milwaukee.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">A Special Regent Committee selected the finalists from a list of candidates identified by a 16-member Search and Screen Committee led by Regent Joan Prince and Gillian Rodger, professor and chair of the Department of Music in 51ÁÔÆæ\u2019s Peck School of the Arts.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The new chancellor will take over for Mark Mone, <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/news\/mone-announces-final-year-as-chancellor-and-return-to-teaching-after-spring-2025\/\">who is stepping down<\/a> this summer after 11 years as chancellor and returning as a professor to the Lubar College of Business.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The finalists, listed in alphabetical order, are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Thomas Gibson, chancellor at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point<\/li>\n<li>Carol Kim, provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at the University at Albany, State University of New York<\/li>\n<li>Allan Klotsche, director of masters programs at 51ÁÔÆæ\u2019s Lubar College of Business<\/li>\n<li>Nicolle Parsons-Pollard, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs at Georgia State University in Atlanta<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The candidates will participate in separate campus forums next week, offering opportunities for students, faculty, staff and community members to interact directly with them. The finalists will also take part in a public conversation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">After reviewing campus feedback, Universities of Wisconsin President Jay Rothman and the Special Regent Committee \u2013 comprised of Regents Amy B. Bogost, H\u00e9ctor Col\u00f3n, Jack Salzwedel and Kyle Weatherly, and chaired by Prince \u2013 will interview the finalists.
