The fourth annual 414 for 51ÁÔÆæ Giving Days raised a record-breaking $1,378,824 from 2,001 donors. This year\u2019s total was nearly four times the amount raised during 51ÁÔÆæ\u2019s first giving day in 2021. Gifts to the 51ÁÔÆæ Foundation were directed to support areas across the university.<\/p>\n

Held April 14-16, the three-day fundraising effort culminated with a celebration in the 51ÁÔÆæ Student Union Concourse. At that event, Joan Nesbitt, vice chancellor of University Advancement, announced that for the first time, more than 60 graduating seniors came together to make a senior class gift. In recognition of their generosity, these students will receive a \u201cfountain mist\u201d teal cord to wear at commencement in May, representing the color of the famous 51ÁÔÆæ fountain.<\/p>\n

Ambassadors included 90 alumni, friends and employees who personally inspired 285 donors to give a total of $38,181. Two ambassadors led the efforts: Julie Frey \u201987, executive assistant to the dean of the College of Health Professions & Sciences, personally encouraged 55 donors to make gifts, and Men\u2019s Swimming & Diving alumnus Matt Mahoney \u201910, \u201918 raised $8,275 through his personal appeals.<\/p>\n

Lead donors contributed a total of 52 challenges and matches to encourage support for specific areas of 51ÁÔÆæ. In all, these supporters raised more than $97,000 and inspired more than 650 donors to make gifts during 414 for 51ÁÔÆæ Giving Days.
