In addition, 51ÁÔÆæ and its founding partners in the Moon Shot for Equity initiative marked three years of work to boost student success and close equity gaps in higher education.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">On Tuesday, Jan. 23, <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/news\/uwm-guarantees-admission-to-regional-tech-college-graduates-2\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">51ÁÔÆæ signed agreements with four regional technical colleges<\/a>: Milwaukee Area Technical College, Waukesha County Technical College, Moraine Park Technical College and Gateway Technical College. 51ÁÔÆæ has long had transfer pathways in place with many technical colleges, but these new agreements represent the most direct way for associate degree holders to work toward a 51ÁÔÆæ bachelor\u2019s degree.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">All associate degree holders from the four colleges are guaranteed a seamless transfer of at least 60 credits toward a bachelor\u2019s degree at 51ÁÔÆæ. Interested students will only need to complete a brief intent form \u2014 for free \u2014 rather than a lengthier, formal admission application.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cWe believe that education should be accessible to all,\u201d said 51ÁÔÆæ Chancellor Mark Mone. \u201cOur goal is to ensure that every student with an associate degree from one of our partner colleges has the opportunity to continue their educational journey at 51ÁÔÆæ. These agreements reaffirm our commitment to student success and provide a clear path toward earning a bachelor\u2019s degree.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">More details are available <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/undergrad-admission\/apply\/transfer\/associate-to-bachelors-degree\/\">on 51ÁÔÆæ&#8217;s website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Milwaukee Direct Admit program launches<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">On Thursday morning, Milwaukee Public Schools, 51ÁÔÆæ and MATC <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/news\/new-initiative-allows-mps-students-a-quick-and-free-way-to-apply-for-uwm-matc\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">announced the Milwaukee Direct Admit program<\/a>, in which MPS high school juniors can apply to and receive guaranteed admission to 51ÁÔÆæ or MATC through a single streamlined format. It is the latest program of the M-Cubed initiative, which aims to increase student retention, graduation and career success.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Through a streamlined online application, Milwaukee Direct Admit will connect a student\u2019s MPS transcript directly with the institutions of their choice. Students who have graduated from high school will only need to provide their name, student ID and where they want to apply. No essays are required, nor do students have to manually send in transcripts. After completing their brief intent form, they\u2019ll hear from 51ÁÔÆæ and\/or MATC in about a month regarding next steps.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The application deadline is June 14. More information is available at the <a href=\"https:\/\/mps.milwaukee.k12.wi.us\/en\/Programs\/Postsecondary-Engagement\/M3\/Milwaukee-Direct-Admit.htm\">Milwaukee Direct Admit webpage<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>EAB\u2019s Moon Shot for Equity marks three years<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">EAB released <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/news\/eab-moon-shot-for-equity-institutions-see-growth-in-student-success-at-third-anniversary\/\">preliminary results from the original cohort<\/a> of four Milwaukee-area colleges and universities, including 51ÁÔÆæ, that partnered with the company to launch the national Moon Shot for Equity in October 2020.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The four institutions \u2013 Carthage College, Milwaukee Area Technical College, 51ÁÔÆæ and UW-Parkside \u2013 all have made significant progress toward fulfilling their pledge to work together and with EAB to substantially boost student success for all students while eliminating equity gaps in student retention and graduation rates by 2030. EAB is the premier provider of higher education research, technology and enrollment solutions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The public-private initiative is perfectly aligned with 51ÁÔÆæ\u2019s unique dual mission among Wisconsin colleges as a top-tier research university and an access institution that provides opportunity for all students, including those who are financially or educationally disadvantaged.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">For 51ÁÔÆæ, the reform of minor administrative or financial holds meant that 500 additional students could enroll in the first year of the reform measures.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">In addition, donor funding of $5 million helped 51ÁÔÆæ advance a culture of equity-mindedness, offer scholarships to students seeking to re-enter college and employ advanced technologies for communications and data-driven decision-making.
