{"id":121707,"date":"2023-06-02T17:37:47","date_gmt":"2023-06-02T22:37:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/news\/?p=121707"},"modified":"2023-06-02T17:37:47","modified_gmt":"2023-06-02T22:37:47","slug":"elder-abuse-workshop-set-for-awareness-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/news\/elder-abuse-workshop-set-for-awareness-day\/","title":{"rendered":"Elder abuse workshop set for awareness day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Helen Bader School of Social Welfare\u2019s Office of Applied Gerontology is presenting a virtual workshop as part of the 2023 World Elder Abuse Awareness Day June 8 from 9 to 11:30 a.m.\u00a0 The workshop will look at the ethical considerations in working with vulnerable older adults. The Milwaukee County Aging and Disabilities Service and Bader Philanthropies are co-presenters of the workshop.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">One focus of the workshop will be exploring ethical dilemmas that occur in balancing protection of an older adult from harm while respecting individual freedoms.
