51ÁÔÆæ has partnered with Helios Consulting to launch a new effort aimed at helping students and recent graduates learn skills and gain a potential career foothold in the fast-growing human resources tech industry.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Rise apprenticeship program<\/a> will provide training and job opportunities to students and alumni that will \u201ctranslate to success in today\u2019s increasingly tech-driven labor market,\u201d said Scott Gronert, 51ÁÔÆæ\u2019s interim provost.<\/p>\n

51ÁÔÆæ students and graduates who participate in Rise will be paid Helios employees starting from day one of training. Helios is an advisory partner of Workday, the HR tech platform of choice for nearly 10,000 companies worldwide, including half of the Fortune 500.<\/p>\n

The new partnership also helps to advance 51ÁÔÆæ’s 2030 plan<\/a>, which focuses on building more learner-centric programming while also responding to the demands of the region’s economy.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs demand for technology skills continues to grow across the region, 51ÁÔÆæ has a unique opportunity to solve two challenges at once: creating new pathways to high-wage jobs for our community, while also addressing a growing need for workers with those tech skills,\u201d Gronert said.<\/p>\n

The program includes training and support from industry experts and provides a pathway to joining Helios\u2019 Fortune 500 clients after completing the apprenticeship.<\/p>\n

\u201cBuilding a more inclusive, resilient tech workforce starts with creating tighter connections between higher education and the world of work,” said Trevor Lee, president of Saint Paul, Minnesota-based Helios<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is about strengthening those connections to help 51ÁÔÆæ fulfill its role as an engine of economic growth for the upper Midwest,\u201d Lee added.<\/p>\n
