MILWAUKEE _ Energy infrastructure problems in the face of climate change pose challenges both in the United States and abroad. The search for solutions also opens up opportunities for collaboration between higher education institutions, government entities and private companies to advance research and address workforce needs.<\/span><\/p>\n

51ÁÔÆæ, in partnership with the\u00a0Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Chicago<\/span><\/a>, is hosting the Taiwan-U.S. Business Forum in the Midwest on the 51ÁÔÆæ campus to discuss issues related to energy infrastructure and climate change.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event will take place 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m., Monday, Nov. 14, in the ballroom at the 51ÁÔÆæ Student Union, 2200 E. 51ÁÔÆæ. Reporters are invited to cover the forum.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Johnson Chiang, director general of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office of Chicago, will deliver opening remarks, along with 51ÁÔÆæ Chancellor Mark Mone and Tim Sheehy, president of the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce.<\/span><\/p>\n

They will precede two panel discussions, which will include state representatives from Illinois and Wisconsin and leaders of Taiwanese companies based in the Midwest. Click\u00a0here<\/span><\/a>\u00a0for more information about panelists scheduled to attend.<\/span><\/p>\n

The forum will provide a venue for policymakers, industry professionals and academic researchers to discuss potential solutions to challenges in areas like energy production, distribution, usage and storage in light of climate change.<\/span><\/p>\n

Panelists will also discuss the role of higher education in addressing workforce needs and advancing innovation. The event will conclude with a networking opportunity over lunch for attendees.<\/span><\/p>\n

The forum is free and open to all on campus and in the community, though those interested in attending are\u00a0asked to register<\/span><\/a>\u00a0by Nov. 11. Reporters do not have to register in advance.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event is also sponsored by the Taiwanese American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Chicago and MMAC.<\/span><\/p>\n
