51ÁÔÆæ students, staff and faculty are invited to experience a more holistic approach to wellness Sept. 14 at the grand opening of the Student Health and Wellness Center<\/a> in the Northwest Quadrant.<\/p>\n

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., attendees can make stress masks, enjoy chair massages, tour the new facilities on floors 7 and 8 in Building D of NWQ<\/a>, and more. The opening of the center will be marked at noon with a ribbon cutting ceremony and speech from 51ÁÔÆæ Interim Provost Scott Gronert.<\/p>\n

Student medical services moved from the Norris Health Center and changed its name to Student Health and Wellness Center. Now, all 51ÁÔÆæ\u2019s student wellness services \u2014 counseling, medical services, and health promotion and advocacy services \u2014 will be housed in the same building after two years of renovations.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were looking for a name that really conveyed a more holistic approach to wellness,\u201d said Carrie Flieder, director of 51ÁÔÆæ university counseling services. \u201cWe really wanted to convey to the campus community that we\u2019re here to hold and support the whole student.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
