In addition to most traditional areas of Pure and Applied Mathematics, the department contains the 51ÁÔÆæ program in Actuarial Science.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The department offers Bachelor\u2019s, Master\u2019s, and Doctoral studies in all of these areas, in addition to several interdisciplinary programs.\u00a0Established in 1963, the PhD in Mathematics is the original doctoral program at 51ÁÔÆæ founded by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/math\/about\/history-of-our-graduate-program\/\">Dr. Morris Marden<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>he Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is home to an active community of teachers, scholars, undergraduates, and graduate students.
