After a primer on modeling considerations and the equations at issue\, we discuss the weak solution theory developed by Leslie and Tan via using a sticky particle discretization technique pioneered by Brenier and Grenier. The special structure of the equations allows us a detailed look into the time-asymptotic behavior of the system\, including the structure of so-called “flocking states”.
