We distribute releases to both local and national news outlets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-who-can-send-a-news-release\">Who Can Send a News Release<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>51ÁÔÆæ policy is that all news releases from university units and employees must be sent through the Media Services team with two exceptions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The marketing team at the School of Continuing Education may distribute releases for events sponsored by that school.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Shared Marketing Support Services account executive for the Peck School of the Arts may distribute releases for events sponsored by that school.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>All releases related to research and other initiatives at those two schools (as well as all other schools and colleges) must be sent through the Media Services team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-to-request-a-news-release\">How to Request a News Release<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Please use our&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/marcomm\/project-intake\/\">project intake form<\/a>&nbsp;to request assistance with a news release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note that the Media Services team reserves the right to recommend alternative means of sharing your news if an alternative seems more appropriate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-promoting-events\">Promoting Events<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Faculty and staff members promoting events are encouraged to enter their event information directly into the following media calendars, as that is more effective than sending a news release:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jsonline.com\/things-to-do\/events\/?_evDiscoveryPath=\/\">Milwaukee Journal Sentinel<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.milwaukeemag.com\/calendar\/\">Milwaukee Magazine<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/shepherdexpress.com\/my.events.html\">Shepherd Express<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/urbanmilwaukee.com\/events\/community\/add\">Urban Milwaukee<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitmilwaukee.org\/events\/\">Visit Milwaukee<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-l-col uwm-l-col--4 uwm-l-offset--1\">\n<div class=\"uwm-l-buttons--full\">\n<a class=\"uwm-c-button uwm-c-button--full uwm-u-mb-20\" href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/marcomm\/project-intake\/\" rel=\"\">Request a News Release<\/a>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-block-otp-nav \"><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":37709,"featured_media":0,"parent":52,"menu_order":14,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":"","uwm_wg_additional_authors":[]},"class_list":["post-471","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v27.3 (Yoast SEO v27.3) - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-premium-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>Marketing &amp;
