Jennifer Kibicho is an Associate Professor at 51’s College of Nursing and Teaching Fellow at the Lubar Entrepreneurship Center. Outside of 51, Jennifer is the District 35 Toastmasters Director covering Wisconsin and Upper Peninsular Michigan with nearly 90 clubs and 1,200 members. Since joining Toastmasters in 2014, Jennifer has developed competent communication and leadership skills and has earned a Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM), the highest recognition award for Toastmasters International.

Everyday Resilience: Community of Practice
The benefits of mindfulness and self-compassion deepen with regular use over an extended period of time. Gather in a supportive community for weekly practice sessions to further explore, practice and integrate mindfulness and self-compassion tools learned in the Everyday Resilience sessions! Sessions are live on zoom and will not be recorded.
Geek Week – Storyboarding with LEC & AIGA
Join AIGA & the LEC during Geek Week for a night of storyboarding! Compete for a chance to win new art supplies or just come out to have fun. This event is open to all students no matter their academic background. Supplies for non-digital storyboarding will be provided at the event, as well as pizza! This event is cosponsored with Student Involvement and AIGA.

The winner of 51 Qualifying Wisconsin Big Idea Tournament will have the opportunity to compete alongside students from across the UW System at the WiSys Big Idea Tournament at UW-Whitewater.
Qualifying teams will receive:
Exposure to business mentors, investors and lean startup champions
Ongoing entrepreneurship support leading up to state finals
Opportunity to network with other student entrepreneurs

Social Good Morning – Alexa Alfaro
Join us for coffee and conversation as we welcome Alexa Alfaro, Co-Founder of Meat on the Street. Established in 2014, Meat on the Street was founded between siblings Alexa and Matt Alfaro as Milwaukee’s first Filipino food truck. The company has since grown with multiple food trucks, a catering service, and a brick-and-mortar location.
“Food is love in our household.” This morning conversation will surround topics of how food keeps us connected as well as learning about Alexa’s journey in starting and sustaining Meat on the Street. From inspirations to process, hear about the path that led Alexa and Matt to most recently form a partnership with The Milwaukee Public Museum.

The Accessibility Resource Center (ARC) at 51 is dedicated to providing equal access for students with disabilities to the University’s academic, social, cultural and recreational programs. The ARC provides comprehensive services and accommodations for students with disabilities as well as outreach and support to faculty and staff. The Accessibility Resource Center is committed to creating an inclusive and accessible University experience for all students.

The Lubar Entrepreneurship Center and the Southeast Asian American Student Center are excited to welcome the co-owner of AN OX CAFE, Sia Xiong, our Diverse Ideas guest for Women’s History Month!
Sia Xiong and her husband came to the United States in 1979 and have been working on opening their own restaurant since 2018. After much anticipation, they finally opened their doors in 2022 and welcomed their first guest. The name AN OX comes from the Chinese Zodiac Year of the Ox, when both of the owners were born. Sia strives to create a space that is easily accessible to everyone.
Join us for a lunch with a mix of Asian Fusion food and a focus on Lao and Thai cuisine provided by AN OX CAFE as we hear about Sia Xiong’s experiences in the food service industry.

Social Good Morning – Tiffany Yvonne
Join us as we welcome 51 School of Continuing Education alum and Executive Leadership Coach Tiffany Yvonne. Over the years, Tiffany has designed and orchestrated trainings, workshops, and experiences that equip leaders with a framework to coach themselves and their team. Her workshops improve well-being, engagement, and overall work performance – aligning ‘people strategy’ with ‘profit strategy.’ She is a past participant in the 51 Startup Challenge with her venture Purposeful Play that uses intentional curriculum that integrates Social Emotional Learning (SEL) as well as physical activity, which provides a wholistic approach to addressing the health needs of youth in our communities. Her strategies to co-create organizational effectiveness, employee experience, and courageous communication help leaders develop “PLAY To Win Plans” so they can maximize outcomes and change work culture.

The Lubar Entrepreneurship Center and the Black Student Cultural Center are excited to welcome 51 Global Management alum Serah Washington to Diverse Ideas this month. Serah currently serves as the Business Development Specialist at Riverworks Development Corporation where she offers one-on-one small business coaching to the Milwaukee community. Serah’s work focuses on supporting Black and Brown entrepreneurs throughout Milwaukee. Join us for lunch as we hear about Serah’s experience in global management and entrepreneurship!

The LEC is excited to welcome Ranell Washington, Partnership Development Advisor for American Family Insurance and Vice President of Milwaukee’s young professional organization, Social X. Our esteemed guest has been recognized for various awards including Milwaukee Business Journal Power Broker, Young Professional Broker, and a Top 100 Influential Finance Executive, and is also a Milwaukee Business Journal 40 under 40 awardee. Ranell is a co-founder of Social X, an inclusive and diverse collection of young professionals in Milwaukee, which was created as a response to Milwaukee’s absence of social connections for young professionals. He has most recently received the 2023 Impact Award presented by UW-Alumni Association and was ranked as a top executive of “getting things done” in Business Journal’s 100 Power Brokers for 2023.
