While they were here, we took the one of the American Geographical Society Library&#8217;s most cherished holdings, the 1452 mappamundi by Giovanni Leardo, out of the frame it has lived in for almost 20 years. Once removed from the frame, the Lazarus team performed multispectral imaging of the Leardo, and it allowed the 51ÁÔÆæ Libraries Digital Collections team to capture updated digital images as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of their visit, we hosted a lecture that provided some historical context about the Leardo mappamundi, as well as the process of multispectral imaging.
