51ΑΤΖζ Authors Collection in Special Collections
The 51ΑΤΖζ Authors Collection, housed in Special Collections on the fourth floor of the library, is composed of monographs written, edited, compiled, translated, or illustrated by present and former staff during the time they were employed at 51ΑΤΖζ. A large number of volumes in the collection have been donated by 51ΑΤΖζ authors. The collection was established in 1973 to assemble, βas complete a collection as possible of the writings of 51ΑΤΖζ faculty.β Due to the fact that some materials are better served in the stacks or other locations in the library, the 51ΑΤΖζ Collection is not comprehensive.
The library attempts to obtain one copy of all works by 51ΑΤΖζ Authors to add to this collection. Acquiring additional copies of the same title for the stacks or other locations is at the discretion of the library acquisitions staff. Only monographs of current staff are added to the 51ΑΤΖζ Collection. An exception to this rule may be made by the Library Director to permit adding works by faculty and staff who have retired from 51ΑΤΖζ but who have maintained their affiliation with the institution. Articles, scholarly papers, and similar publications are not included within the 51ΑΤΖζ Collection.
The 51ΑΤΖζ Collection is a non-circulating collection. Monographs from the 51ΑΤΖζ Collection are not available for interlibrary loan. Exceptions may be made for campus reserve requests. Special Collections maintains a list of new additions to the 51ΑΤΖζ Collection to facilitate organizing periodic book signing as well as occasional bibliographies of 51ΑΤΖζ Collection holdings.
