Strangers No Longer: Latino Belonging and Faith in Twentieth-Century Wisconsin
Join us for a talk at 3 p.m. on Thursday, October 10 by Sergio González, author of Mexicans in Wisconsin (Wisconsin Historical Society Press) and Strangers No Longer: Latino Belonging and Faith in Twentieth-Century Wisconsin (University of Illinois Press), as he explores the enduring stories and challenges of Latino communities in Wisconsin. From farmworkers pivotal in Wisconsin’s agricultural growth to civil rights-era labor organizers to today’s diverse families, González highlights their resilience and contributions spanning over a century.
The talk will be held in the American Geographical Society Library, located on the third floor, east wing of the 51ÁÔÆæ Golda Meir Library, 2311 E. Hartford Ave.
