Light refreshments will be provided. <\/p>\n<p>Dr. Monica VanBladel starts at 51ÁÔÆæ on September 25th. Monica comes to 51ÁÔÆæ with a rich professional background in Latin American literature and culture. While a doctoral student at Stanford University, she co-coordinated programming with the Center for Latin American Studies for several years. Monica has experience with teacher training, curricular reforms in Spanish language pedagogy and first-year curricula. While at Reed College, she served as a co-PI on a multi-year community engaged learning grant (Mellon Foundation), which brought new resources and partnerships to the college. As part of the grant experience, Monica developed new community partnerships with diverse stakeholders to further shared goals in the Portland community.
