These brews all have archaeological\/historical pedigrees. The story of each brew will be available in a short power point.<\/p>\n<p>Three judges will choose the top three brews:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Joe Yeado, Gathering Place Brewing<\/li>\n<li>Jerry Janiszewski, Pabst Mansion and Wisconsin Historical Foundation Board of Directors<\/li>\n<li>Rob Novak, The Brewing Experience, Old World Wisconsin<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Joe Yeado has generously agreed to offer the winner the opportunity to brew their beer using a new pilot brewing system at Gathering Place in River West with a launch party at GP to follow.<\/p>\n<p>One ounce samples will be available to attendees of legal drinking age, and there will be a People\u2019s Choice award with non-contestants casting their votes via ballot for their favorite brew.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s entries are:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Medieval Bog Nog (gruit ale with bog myrtle and millet)<\/li>\n<li>My Heart\u2019s in the Highlands (<em>leann fraoich<\/em>\/heather ale)<\/li>\n<li>Juellinge\u2019s Prize (Iron Age Nordic grog)<\/li>\n<li>Heart of the Agave (Mesoamerican pulque)<\/li>\n<li>Gold of King Midas (Iron Age Gordion)<\/li>\n<li>Chicha Morada (Andean purple maize beer)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>See you for a fun evening of history, archaeology and a taste of ancient brews from around the world!
