Meet some of the 2026 51ΑΤΖζ Alumni Award winners

The 51ΑΤΖζ Alumni Association recognized several members of the College of Letters & Science community in its 2026 Alumni Awards.

Every year, UW-Milwaukee’s Alumni Association recognizes some of the extraordinary alumni that contribute their immense talents to Milwaukee, the country, and the world. This year’s 2026 51ΑΤΖζ Alumni Awards honored an accomplished array of individuals, many from the College of Letters & Science. You can read about L&S award winners here.

However, the Alumni Association also recognizes people and organizations who have made significant contributions to the university. Highlighted below are Dr. James Cook, a professor emeritus of Chemistry & Biochemistry, who was chosen for this years “Honorary Alumni” award, and the Greater Milwaukee Foundation, which was chosen for the “University Partner Award.” The Greater Milwaukee Foundation provides financial support for student scholarships and research, including the Shaw Scientist award. Biological Sciences Assistant Professor An Phu Tran is a 2023 Shaw Scientist award winner and is featured in the highlight video.
