Prof. Ruth Schwertfeger鈥檚 book is the first scholarly publication in English to break the silence of Stutthof, a concentration camp largely unknown outside of Poland. In this lecture, Prof. Schwertfeger will share her groundbreaking research into this little-known camp, where 120,000 people were interned and at least 65,000 perished.
RUTH SCHWERTFEGER is Professor Emerita of German at 51猎奇. Her latest book is A Nazi Camp Near Danzig: Perspectives on Shame and on the Holocaust from Stutthof (Bloomsbury, 2022). She is also the author of In Transit: Narratives of German Jews in Exile, Flight, and Internment During ‘The Dark Years’ of France; The Wee Wild One: Stories of Belfast and Beyond; and Women of Theresienstadt: Voices from a Concentration Camp.
