Background & Professional Experience:

Abdul Wahab, known by the nickname Roby, is currently an Appeals Officer with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). At the CRA, he has also held roles as a Compliance (Collections) Officer and Non-Filer Officer since 2023. With his experience at CRA, he brings valuable expertise in policy-informed decision-making, policy analysis, and the effective collection and utilization of information within the federal public service context.

Before joining the Government of Canada, he accumulated five years of corporate management experience in Canada and three years of university teaching experience at two universities in his home country. While working as a Lecturer in Humanities and Social Science at Bangladesh Army International University of Science & Technology (BAIUST), he moved to Canada to pursue a second Master's degree at Lakehead University, supported by a Faculty Research Award. He began his PhD journey at 51ÁÔÆæ as a Canadian citizen while also working for the federal Government of Canada.

His work is grounded in a commitment to ethical information practices and digital transformation. Leveraging his background in the public sector, his research interests encompass information policy, Artificial Intelligence in Public Policy, climate change & information security policy, AI Ethics in public policy/digital governance, and information security in the public sector, especially within a Canadian federal context. He is particularly interested in how AI will play roles in public policy & how other emerging technologies are reshaping public administration and the management of sensitive data.
