{"id":12279,"date":"2025-04-22T08:43:27","date_gmt":"2025-04-22T13:43:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/technology\/?p=12279"},"modified":"2025-04-22T08:43:27","modified_gmt":"2025-04-22T13:43:27","slug":"upcoming-macos-15-upgrade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/information-technology\/upcoming-macos-15-upgrade\/","title":{"rendered":"Upcoming macOS 15 Upgrade"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>51ÁÔÆæ IT will upgrade all university owned computers currently running macOS 14 Sonoma (or older versions of macOS) on Friday, May 23 at 7 am.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Information on the Upgrade<\/strong><br \/>\nYou can <a href=\"https:\/\/kb.uwm.edu\/123073\">install the macOS 15 Sequoia upgrade<\/a> at your convenience prior to May 23. On May 23 at 7 am, computers will automatically upgrade to macOS 15 Sequoia. Mac computers must upgrade to ensure security. For more information about new features with this upgrade, please visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apple.com\/macos\/macos-sequoia\/\">Apple\u2019s macOS Sequoia website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Please Note<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The upgrade process usually takes about 45 minutes &#8211; 1 hour to complete.<\/li>\n<li>The upgrade should not result in any loss of data. However, we recommend <a href=\"https:\/\/kb.uwm.edu\/148891\">backing up important documents to OneDrive<\/a> prior to starting the upgrade.<\/li>\n<li>We have made every effort to ensure full compatibility with all standard 51ÁÔÆæ Mac software.
