Once activated, your user name and password will be used to access all 51ÁÔÆæ online services. <strong>Do not share your password with anyone.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Below are resources for activating your account:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/kb.uwm.edu\/64721\">Activate your account<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/kb.uwm.edu\/51508\">Password complexity requirements<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/kb.uwm.edu\/58977\">What is my user name?<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Multi-factor Authentication<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you are a student at 51ÁÔÆæ, you will be required to add multi-factor authentication (MFA) to your account. MFA is the combination of something you know (your password) and something you have (such as a cell phone). More information on MFA can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/information-technology\/digital-id\/mfa-student\/\">student MFA page<\/a> or use our directions to <a href=\"https:\/\/kb.uwm.edu\/54768\">set up MFA<\/a> using the Microsoft Authenticator App.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-password-changes-amp-forgotten-password\">Password Changes &amp; Forgotten Password<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You are required to change your password once every year. Below are resources for password changes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/kb.uwm.edu\/79722\">Password expiration<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/kb.uwm.edu\/42105\">Forgotten password<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/kb.uwm.edu\/62282\">Change your password<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-is-my-account-properly-activated-and-set-up\">Is my account properly activated and set up?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you have followed the steps outlined above, your account will be set up properly and you can use your account to register for classes, contact your advisor, perform coursework and use the online resources available to you at 51ÁÔÆæ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To test that your account is working properly, log into <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/paws\">PAWS<\/a>. Before you do this, you must <a href=\"https:\/\/kb.uwm.edu\/64721\">active your 51ÁÔÆæ account<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\">Why can&#8217;t I access my email?<\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<p>While your user name is an email address, applicants do not have access to all of 51ÁÔÆæ\u2019s online services including email.
