{"id":13252,"date":"2025-03-03T15:36:43","date_gmt":"2025-03-03T21:36:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/information-technology\/hpc\/about\/governance\/"},"modified":"2025-03-11T17:11:45","modified_gmt":"2025-03-11T22:11:45","slug":"governance","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/information-technology\/hpc\/about\/governance\/","title":{"rendered":"Governance"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"uwm-l-row\">\n<div class=\"uwm-l-col\">\n<p class=\"size-p-lg\">The management and operation of the 51ÁÔÆæ High Performance Computing Service is overseen by three layers of governance:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Sponsors of the service are the vice chancellor for research, the deans of the schools\/colleges using the cluster and the CIO. They are responsible for evaluating and assessing the service and have the authority to approve service levels, costs and associated risks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A Governance Group is responsible for meeting the prioritized needs of the researchers within the constraints of the resource. This group is comprised primarily of faculty representatives from the participating schools\/colleges and representatives from University Information Technology Services (UITS).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A Cluster Support Group is responsible for the overseeing the routine operation of the service and recommending major changes in configuration or operation to the Governance Group.
