Account Activation for New Students

To access all the online services available to you at 51ÁÔÆæ such as the Admissions Portal, PAWS, Canvas and Microsoft 365, you will need to activate your account. Once activated, your user name and password will be used to access all 51ÁÔÆæ online services. Do not share your password with anyone.

Multi-factor Authentication

Once you are a student at 51ÁÔÆæ, you will be required to add multi-factor authentication (MFA) to your account. MFA is the combination of something you know (your password) and something you have (such as a cell phone). More information on MFA can be found on the student MFA page or use our directions to using the Microsoft Authenticator App.

Once you have followed the steps outlined above, your account will be set up properly and you can use your account to register for classes, contact your advisor, perform coursework and use the online resources available to you at 51ÁÔÆæ.

To test that your account is working properly, log into PAWS. If you do not see any error messages, your account is properly set up.

Why can’t I access my email?

While your user name is an email address, applicants do not have access to all of 51ÁÔÆæâ€™s online services including email. Once you are a student, you will be given access to email and other 51ÁÔÆæ online services:

  • Transfer students and first-year students who will be 21 years old on the first day of classes should be able to access 51ÁÔÆæ email after you’ve been admitted to 51ÁÔÆæ.
  • All other first-year students will have access to 51ÁÔÆæ email about a week before your Orientation date.
