Shelter Manager, Milwaukee Women\u2019s Center<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Penelope is the Shelter Manger at the Milwaukee Women\u2019s Center, a division of Community Advocates. In her role as the shelter manager, she oversees the 68 bed shelter for families experiencing homelessness and domestic violence. She is committed to providing a trauma-informed approach to enhance housing stability for the families served.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to her role as a shelter manager, Penelope spent eight years with Children\u2019s Wisconsin and the Institute for Child and Family Well-Being as a Child and Family Therapist and Foster Parent Educator. In both roles she worked directly with families involved in child welfare. Earlier in her career, she worked in special education in Milwaukee Public Schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Penelope is a licensed professional counselor. She earned her bachelor\u2019s degree in educational policy and community studies from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and later a master\u2019s degree in professional counseling from Grand Canyon University. She is a Milwaukee native with a passion for caring for Milwaukee\u2019s most vulnerable populations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
