XL twin sheet sets are available in most discount and department stores during the summer months. Standard beds can be raised, lofted, or bunked. Frames can be adjusted from a standard height of 1&#8217;10&#8221; to 3&#8217;1&#8243; based on preference. When bunked (or lofted), the top frame sits at a height of 6&#8217;1&#8243;, leaving 2&#8217;7&#8243; of space for the resident sleeping in the lower bunk. A loft kit raises a bed to provide 5&#8217;1&#8243; of space under a residents bed (futon or other seating is <strong><em>not provided<\/em><\/strong> by University Housing, in photo for comparison purposes only.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All Kenilworth Square Apartment beds have full-size XL mattresses and frames cannot be raised or lofted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1080\" height=\"271\" src=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/housing\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/677\/2025\/01\/4-together_edited-larger-02.png\" alt=\"Illustration showing four different bed configurations for campus housing, each labeled with dimensions. All University Housing furniture, including mattresses, must remain in the room\/suite\/apartment at all times.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-loft-kit-rental\">Loft Kit Rental<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If residents wish to loft their bed, they must rent a loft from University Housing; homemade or purchased third-party lofts are not permitted in any University Housing Facilities. <em>(Kenilworth residents are not eligible for lofting.)<\/em> The cost for a loft rental is $150\/year ($75 for Spring\/Semester II-only). If you would like your loft assembled* prior to your arrival, you can also request this $35 service. <strong>*disassembly at move-out is the responsibility of the resident<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The deadline to reserve a loft will be August 1 (Fall\/Semester I entry)\/January 1 (Spring\/Semester II entry). Lofts requested by this date will be delivered to residents&#8217; rooms by the official start of Fall or Spring Move-In. If interested in renting a loft, please request one via your <a href=\"http:\/\/uwm.starrezhousing.com\/starrezportalx\">Housing Portal<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Resident Assistant staff will come through in September\/February and do an audit of all lofts set up in each room to ensure the safety rail is present and provide a report to the Housing Office to appropriately bill for the loft rental.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-loft-payment-amp-cancellation\">Loft Payment &amp; Cancellation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Residents are not required to pay for the loft at the time of sign-up. Loft charges will be posted to your PAWS account beginning in September\/February.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Loft cancellations will be accepted via the <a href=\"http:\/\/uwm.starrezhousing.com\/starrezportalx\">Housing Portal<\/a> through 11:59 pm, August 1 (Fall\/Semester I entry)\/January 1 (Spring\/Semester II entry). If residents cancel their loft after it has been delivered, they must keep their delivered loft in their assigned room. Staff will pick up canceled lofts by early September\/February.
