{"id":3162,"date":"2021-01-14T10:07:57","date_gmt":"2021-01-14T16:07:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/honors\/?page_id=3162"},"modified":"2026-04-16T09:37:05","modified_gmt":"2026-04-16T14:37:05","slug":"summer-leadership-camp","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/honors\/inclusion\/summer-leadership-camp\/","title":{"rendered":"Camps"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-honors-summer-leadership-camp-nbsp\"><b>Honors Summer Leadership Camp&nbsp;<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">Our goals are to build community, foster a sense of belonging, and help jump-start your college experience as a campus leader by giving you a chance to connect with other new Honors students, as well as current students, faculty, and staff.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left x_MsoNormal\"><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">This is a free opportunity open to all incoming members of the Honors College, especially those who are historically underrepresented in higher education (including first-generation students). Participants will receive free housing and meals at Sandburg residence hall. Our camp offers sessions that emphasize college-readiness where 51ÁÔÆæ faculty, staff, and students will introduce campers to college life and share details about how to be successful in higher education.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">This is a free opportunity open to high school juniors and seniors in the Milwaukee area. This camp is a two day experience and lunch and snacks are included.
