The 51ÁÔÆæ Honors College seeks to be a radically welcoming space where all students, staff, and faculty can flourish and experience genuine belonging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of its effort to address asymmetries of power in higher education, the Honors College is committed to developing meaningful relationships with local high schools that predominantly serve students historically underrepresented at 51ÁÔÆæ.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Using an asset-based model of near-peer mentoring, we bring together Honors undergraduates with students at our partner high schools to highlight pathways to college and to encourage them on their educational journey.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We travel to our partner schools in order to participate in small group discussions and other activities focused on college-readiness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also invite our high school friends to visit the Honors College, to attend events like the Undergraduate Research Symposium or the\u00a0Community Empowerment and Justice Symposium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, we welcome high school students to participate in our College-Readiness Summer Camp.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
