In CC courses you will learn how to make these connections through your courses and through hands-on service learning experiences in the community. The whole city becomes our campus as we combine academics with real world experience and build lasting partnerships with diverse community organizations. The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/community\/\">Center for Student Experience &amp; Talent<\/a>\u00a0coordinates service learning for CC students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"uwm-f-quote\"><blockquote>\u201cService learning allowed me to put faces on the issues and see actual people whom those issues affect.\u201d<\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-service-learners-have\">Service learners have:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Examined urban history by participating in an archeology dig<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Explored how dance and movement affect brain activity to enhance learning in children<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Created oral histories documenting how diverse immigrants helped<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>build Milwaukee\u2019s neighborhoods<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Produced videos about race, ethnicity and personal identity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In our rapidly changing world, the ability to make connections across local and global communities is a critical tool for success.
