If you are ready to declare right now, read on for details about the process and requirements.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When to Declare<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ideally, you should declare the minor as soon as possible, in order to take advantage of departmental advising in planning the best sequence of upper-level courses. There are no prerequisites you need before declaring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Explore the Different Tracks in the Minor<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Classics Minor is also divided into three specific tracks (Classical Civilization<\/a>, Greek<\/a>, and Latin<\/a>). Examine the tracks and think about which one suits your interests best.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You are strongly encouraged to contact the Program Coordinator, preferably via email portera@uwm.edu<\/a> to request an appointment. At that appointment, the Program Coordinator will be able to answer your preliminary questions about the minor. You, in turn, will be asked about your background, your current interests, and your long-range plans to help you create a fulfilling program appropriate to your interests and goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Advising<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Once you have declared your minor, you will have access to the Program Coordinator, who will answer any questions that come up regarding technical aspects of the minor (e.g., which courses satisfy which requirements).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You should plan to meet with your advisor once a semester, before registering for classes, to talk over your progress in the minor and your plans for future classes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
