Kilbourn Ave., starting at\u00a0<strong>7:30 a.m.<\/strong> for the 9 a.m. ceremony and 12:30 p.m. for the 2 p.m. ceremony (Fourth St., between State &amp; Kilbourn) and no later than <strong>7:55 a.m. for the\u00a0rehearsal<\/strong> <strong>in the morning<\/strong> <strong>and 12:55 p.m. for rehearsal<\/strong> <strong>in the afternoon<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When you arrive at the PhD check-in area, candidates who have RSVP\u2019d will receive a pre-printed name card that will be read during the ceremony. Make sure you complete a <strong>photo card <\/strong>and&nbsp;pick up a&nbsp;<strong>printed program. Marshals will help you find seats with your escort for the rehearsal.<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>If you did not RSVP, you will need to fill out a name card and a photo card<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once the rehearsal \u2014 which involves walking onto and across the stage and back down \u2014 is completed, the marshals will direct the PhD candidates and their escorts to their seats.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Photographers will be taking pictures of candidates as they approach the ramp to go on stage, as well as while they receive their diploma cover on stage. The photographers will be distributing a contact photo card to students at the arena. Please be sure to complete a contact photo card; it will be used to contact you once your proofs are ready to view and purchase.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No alcoholic beverages or helium balloons are permitted in the arena.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-u-flex uwm-u-flex--wrap uwm-u-flex--left\">\n<button class=\"uwm-p-modal--launch uwm-c-button uwm-u-mr-20 uwm-u-mb-20 security-details\" aria-controls=\"uwm-modal-security-details\" data-modal-prefix-class=\"uwm-p\" data-modal-content-id=\"uwm-modal-security-details\" data-modal-close-text=\"Close\" data-modal-close-title=\"Close\">Security Details<\/button>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-conferring-of-degrees\">Conferring of Degrees<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Doctoral candidates will be asked to rise for conferring of their degree. The candidate and escort approach the stage from left and right sides with the escort on the candidate\u2019s left.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The escort will hand the name reader the candidate\u2019s name card, which will be read. The candidate and the escort will then move to the center of the stage.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The candidate will turn and face the audience. The escort will hood the candidate. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then the provost and Graduate School dean present the diploma. The chancellor and regent shake hands with the degree recipient.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The candidate and escort leave the stage using the center ramp, return to their seats and sit down.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The name reader reads the name of the second candidate and escort \u2013 and so on, until all candidates have gone through the ceremony.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-recessional\">Recessional<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The platform party will lead the recessional, followed by the faculty and graduates. Disruptions will not be tolerated. Participants who engage in disruption risk arrest, and\/or criminal charges and student disciplinary action. Graduates are asked to pass through security with their graduation gowns unzipped and open as part of the Wisconsin Center District security screening process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-l-col\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading size-h4 uwm-u-mb-0 uwm-c-link--dark\" id=\"h-bag-policy-at-uwm-panther-arena\"><a href=\"https:\/\/uwmilwaukeepantherarena.com\/events-tickets\/bag-policy\/\">Bag Policy at 51ÁÔÆæ Panther Arena<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"uwm-u-mt-10\">Graduates and guests attending public ticketed events are permitted to bring a 12-inch-by-6-inch-by-12-inch or smaller clear stadium bag, gallon-sized clear zip bag, a 4-inch-by-6-inch-by-1-inch wristlet, or a diaper bag or medical bag, which will be searched. <strong>This will be strictly enforced<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading size-h4 uwm-u-mb-0 uwm-c-link--dark\" id=\"h-prohibited-items-at-panther-arena\"><a href=\"https:\/\/uwmilwaukeepantherarena.com\/before-you-go\/\">Prohibited Items at Panther Arena<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"uwm-u-mt-10\">A list of prohibited items can be found in the <a href=\"https:\/\/uwmilwaukeepantherarena.com\/before-you-go\/\">A-Z guide of the Panther Arena website.<\/a> Guests will be asked to return prohibited items to their vehicles.
