Dr. Anne Bonds (Professor of Geography)<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Anne Bonds recently presented three lectures. First, Dr. Bonds and her collaborator Dr. Derek Handley (Department of English, 51ÁÔÆæ) presented their project about mapping racial covenants<\/a> to the public on Nov. 8, 2025 at the Milwaukee Public Library. The second lecture was about “Mapping Racism and Resistance in Milwaukee county<\/a>” in a Zilber College of Public Health seminar at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Feb. 5, 2026. In this seminar, Dr. Bonds discussed a crowdsourced, community-engaged mapping project documenting all racial covenants in Milwaukee County and Black resistance to those covenants. Recently, Dr. Bonds also delivered a presentation and discussion about Mapping Racism and Resistance in Milwaukee County: A presentation and discussion about racial covenant<\/a> on Feb. 28,2026 at the Wisconsin Black Historical Society with Dr. Handley. In addition, their project was featured on Spectrum news<\/a> on Feb. 25, 2026 and also on The 411 Live podcast in a two-part series<\/a>. Congratulations on your big achievement!   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also was elected Vice Chair of the American Association of Geographers West Lakes Division, a position he will hold through the summer of 2028, and served a panel for the National Science Foundation\u2019s Directorate for Geosciences. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
